Things to do in a flat when you're ill

Tomorrow I get to go back to work and start to live as a normal human being again.
Having spent 12 days in the flat, mostly alone, I've had a lot of time to fill and so, just in case you ever find yourself in the same situation, here's what I've done:
Watched 2 and a half series of the west wing (6,7 and started again at 1 if you're interested).
Watched a series of films (including bad education, the cider house rules, dawn of the dead, planet terror, the bourne supremacy, reservoir dogs)
Read a couple of books (Espidair Street and until I find you)
did some pointless internet quizzes (including this brilliant one on empire online that I spent all week finishing)
slept

Basically, it's been fairly boring and I can't wait to get out and see people again.

Back to Blog

It's been 19 months since I last contributed to the world of blog and now I've decided to return with a new blog address since it was getting to the point where the old blog was just out of date. If you are interested in the old stuff, you can find it at the original life after blog.

So, why am I back? Well, partly it's boredom. I've been sat in my flat for the last 9 days under quarantine since I've got shingles. Ok, so I've already had shingles twice in my life, I was told the first time, by someone who was at least masquerading as a doctor, that I could only get it once yet here I am, third time lucky. The other reason is that I've missed blogging. Well, that's not completely true, what I actually miss is writing, and jump starting the blog back into life is an excuse for me to do a bit more of it.

Since everyone who reads this blog knows me anyway (at least I presume they do and if they don't, it must be fairly dull) I'm not going to go into what's been going on for the last 19 months. It has been a fantastic 19 months and I guess that one of the reasons I stopped blogging was that there was just so much going on. In the last 19 months I have: got married, moved to a new flat, got a new job working full time in a secondary school for school-home-support, watched lots of films (including the new Indiana Jones, Juno, Son of Rambow), got a new ipod, discovered podcasts, played a lot of wii, helped form and played in a cricket team, read books, gone out for drinks with various people, spent two Christmases in London and learned that 6:30am does exist and that it's possible to get up at this time everyday without losing most of your sanity.

So ends this first post. I'll be blogging my usual rants, reviews, thoughts and general nonsense from now on and I will keep this blog going... honest... I hope.
